We’ve watched this village grow from a little restaurant into a place with a pool and accommodation, which makes today’s visit especially disappointing. I’d been coming here for 20 years, but after this, I won’t be back. We were celebrating fair Augusto with family and small children, and the five-course set menu fell apart: the food and service were below standard, and after three hours we’d only received the third course. We asked several times for the next course, but it never arrived. After another 40 minutes, we left. The manager explained there had been problems, but said we still had to pay for the full menu whether we’d received it or not. We were at table 22. I hate leaving bad reviews, but it was terrible.

The kids loved it here, and we’ll definitely come back. Camping was free and easy, with nice bathrooms and showers nearby that stayed open to campers all night. The restaurant and pool weren’t too expensive either.

It’s set on hills, with cobblestones and dirt underfoot, so if you’re older, bring a walking stick.
