Locanda San Giorgio

The location is beautiful, and both dinner and breakfast at Locanda Zita were excellent. Still, the state of the room when we arrived was inadequate and had a real effect on our stay. The manager was kind and helpful, and sent someone to clean after we complained, which I do want to acknowledge. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but sharing this can help other guests make a choice and give the property a reason to improve.

The room was clean and breakfast was good, but the stay had a lot of problems. There didn’t seem to be a reception when we arrived, so we checked in at the restaurant bar and someone took us to a room that didn’t match the Booking photos. There were two of us in a room set up for three, but it would have been impossible for three people to fit. The bathroom had no shower enclosure, so water could get everywhere, including the hairdryer socket just over a meter away. We could hear constant noise from the floor above from 7 in the morning until 11 at night. Sleeping in later wasn’t possible either, because we could hear the alarm from the tired woman next door. The spa cost €20 per room, and I really wouldn’t recommend it. Two windows were open when we went in, and we couldn’t close one of them. The whirlpool water was cold and never warmed up, the solarium didn’t work, and neither did the treadmill. Only the sauna was working.

The location is very convenient if you’re going skiing, with the summit about 15 minutes away. We had dinner here when we arrived and really enjoyed it: excellent food, fair prices, and lots of choice. Breakfast was plentiful, and the gentleman preparing it was friendly and very helpful. For the price, the stay was good, and we wouldn’t rule out coming back. Our room was small, though we only needed somewhere to rest, and there was an unpleasant smell that we think the managers already knew about. Great value for money.

We were a group of families with children, and the inn felt warm and welcoming, like home. The food and service were excellent, and it was conveniently located for getting to the slopes. Some rooms are modern and others more dated, but everything was very clean. Thanks for being patient with all the noisy kids 😅 I recommend it!
