B&B Baffo

I liked that the place was clean, had the basics, and offered a private entrance, but it didn’t feel private. The hostess was very friendly, though also intrusive, and the family-home atmosphere felt too close for comfort. We’d initially been led to expect more independence, something closer to the privacy of a hotel. The location also made getting around central Milan awkward, with winding streets and no landmarks. At 2 am I got lost for two hours with a dead phone before I managed to flag down a passing car. It was scary. Breakfast only had refined breads, and that left me spending a day in the room near the toilet. That wasn’t their fault. I have serious digestive problems and even bring my own cleaning supplies, but I couldn’t tidy up before the cleaning arrangements suddenly changed. I ended up in a very embarrassing situation. Luckily, I had plenty to keep me occupied, setting up electronic devices and making frames from branches for an upcoming exhibit. That may have made someone curious and led to the unexpected room visit, followed by an angry text while I was having lunch by the sea.
