The reception team was the highlight, especially Mateo, who was warm, professional, and helpful. The hotel is in a great spot, with a bus stop right outside for buses from Siena, and the city is a five-minute walk away. Parking was sufficient, and breakfast was simple but fine. Our room was clean, with no carpet, which helped it feel fresh. The decor was old-fashioned, a bit like the 1970s, and the bathroom was small. We were on the second floor. There isn't a lift, but the stairs are wide and easy to use. For a three-star hotel, it's ideal for a few nights.

The hotel accepts dogs and provides a bed, plus food and water bowls, for a small extra fee. There's private guest parking, with street parking nearby too. The location is good, not too far from the station or center.

Luckily it wasn't very hot during our visit, but that might not be enough in warmer weather, especially since our room was on the top floor. The hotel is about a 20-minute walk from the old town walls, then another 20 minutes to Piazza del Campo. A bus stop is a five-minute walk away, which is useful if you want public transport.
