Agriturismo La Torretta

The hospitality was great, and the views were incredible. A great place!

The family running this place was wonderful and always ready to help, and there's a century of history behind the agriturismo. It feels warm and homey, with a pool to cool off in every day. Set in the countryside, it's still only minutes from the city center, with spectacular views of the city on one side and the countryside on the other. The dogs wandering around looking for cuddles are a lovely bonus. Calling it a dream doesn't even cover it, it's everything you need and more.

We only stayed two nights, but they were genuinely relaxing. The hosts were kind and polite without being intrusive, and we fell in love with the place. It was a five-minute drive to central Siena, convenient but away from the city bustle. Views from the farmhouse were spectacular all around. We enjoyed sunset for a couple of hours at a table with chairs and deckchairs near the private parking area, looking over Siena. There are other spots to relax around the estate, plus fire pits for grilling if you bring the equipment. The room had all the comforts I needed, which was a pleasant surprise for a farmhouse, and the pool was VERY CLEAN. We couldn't use it because of the bad weather and because we'd forgotten our swimsuits 😅. Breakfast was extremely generous, almost too much, and the lady who prepared it was DELICIOUS! We also loved playing with Tatanka, the beautiful cattle dog who wanders around now and then, for about half an hour. We'll definitely book here again when we return. The one tiny negative was the lack of basic information: nobody showed us around or told us what we could do on the property, where the breakfast room was, or how to contact the owners if needed. We didn't actually need anything, but a quick tour on arrival would have been helpful.

We stayed four days and felt right at home. Fresh air, nature, and total relaxation, I wish we could come back every year. The room was rustic and basic, but incredibly quiet even on the ground floor. There's a shared space with a kitchen, refrigerator, and sofa. The owners are wonderful, and the lady makes delicious homemade breakfasts. Animal lovers can see a horse, two black pigs, and several cats, and on our last day a wild deer came out of the vineyards. Agriturismo La Torretta is a farmhouse in the beautiful Sienese countryside, just a short drive from Siena, with breathtaking panoramic city views. There's a pool, though you need a swim cap, as well as a children's play area, a place to relax, and a barbecue grill. If you want a luxury resort, this isn't it. But for an authentic, simple taste of the Tuscan countryside, it's just right.
