Albergo Centrale

My room was really fresh and clean, and I appreciated how quiet it was at night, which isn't always the case in a city center. The view was lovely too, and the location was great. The staff were kind and helpful, and made me feel welcome. I honestly had no complaints, and the price felt fair for what you get.

The only drawback is the staircase up to the hotel, since there's no elevator, though you get used to it. Otherwise, Centrale Duomo was the best of the several three- and four-star hotels I've stayed in around Tuscany, despite its two-star rating. The owner was exceptionally welcoming, and my room was quiet, spotless, and had a beautiful view. The beds gave me the best sleep of the trip. There were double pillows, a hair dryer in the bathroom, and a luxurious shower cabinet. In the heart of town and good value, it's an excellent choice if you're in Siena. Highly recommended.

You can't beat the location, it's a one-minute walk to the plaza. The room was small but had everything, with newer remodeling inside and very clean. And yes, there is air conditioning in the room now! There isn't an elevator, and they don't carry luggage, so expect a few flights of stairs. If fitness or mobility is an issue, this may not be a good fit. For parking, they recommend valet service just outside the city wall, since cars can't drive into the city. It's €40 overnight, a little more than the city garage at €35, but they'll drive you straight to the hotel, so you don't have to manage luggage or public transportation.

Being so close to downtown was nice, and the rooms and bathrooms were small but clean. The beds were comfortable, service decent, and atmosphere alright. It was a bit inconvenient that we weren't told the hotel was on the fifth floor. We booked through a third party, so that may have been their mistake. One person in our group had knee problems and struggled with the stairs. I'd come back if I were travelling alone.
