The location in Siena was excellent, and the room was clean, though very basic. The shower room was tiny. Our room was on the second floor, and there’s no lift. There’s also no shared space for guests or facilities to make tea or coffee.

Our room had a nice view of the square, and being right in the center was a plus. But it was tiny for three people, the bathroom was very small, and the price felt high. During our three-day stay, the woman working there gave us clean towels when we asked, but the room wasn’t cleaned and the garbage wasn’t taken out.

The location is perfect and reception is friendly. That’s about all I liked. The rooms are old, small, and extremely basic, with tiny showers that leave the whole bathroom wet. I’ve never seen towels like those, more like tablecloths. The beds are small, and the air conditioning barely works. The location is the only thing that makes the price justifiable. If that matters less to you, choose somewhere else. We wouldn’t return. It felt like a cheap hostel charging a middle-class hotel price.

The staff were friendly and very helpful, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and had what we needed, though they’re small. The rate was reasonable for the standard. There’s no food served, but plenty of great restaurants and cafes are an easy walk away. The location is central, probably the best in Siena. A note about parking: you can drive up to La Perla to unload bags, but the city centre is a camera-enforced restricted traffic zone. Give the hotel your registration number so they can register your car as an exception, and leave the restricted area within 60 minutes. Municipal parking is about a ten-minute walk and costs around 35 EUR per day. Free parking is farther out, with a longer walk and less security. These rules apply to any city-centre hotel without private parking. Even with that hassle, this is a safe budget choice, and I highly recommend it.
