The one real plus is the location, about two minutes from Ortigia, and the €80 nightly price for two people is very reasonable. Otherwise, this is an old apartment converted into guest rooms, with dated furniture that feels old rather than vintage. There's little privacy, since even whispers carry from the next room, and traffic can be heard outside the window in the morning. The Wi-Fi was extremely slow and unusable.

Our reservation was cancelled two days before arrival because of an unforeseen problem at the property, which I can understand. What bothered me was finding out only when I called that day to confirm our arrival and sort out payment. I might not have been contacted at all. The person handling reservations did offer to find us somewhere else, but the rudeness and indifference overshadowed that. Fortunately, people in Syracuse aren't all like that, and I found another B&B easily.

The kitchen is fully equipped, handy for making spaghetti late at night, and breakfast was good. The rooms were cozy and comfortable, with a clean, private feel. The owner was kind, and the location is excellent too. I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

The owner and caretaker were helpful, and the rooms were spacious and clean. It's centrally located, just a two-minute walk from Ortigia. Breakfast is served at the bar.
