Charme Hotel Henry's House

We spent two nights at Henry’s House on our honeymoon in Sicily and left wishing we’d booked more time. The sea view from our room above the breakfast terrace was beautiful all day. The hotel sits at the tip of Ortigia, close enough to walk to the pedestrian areas and restaurants, but far enough away that evenings were quiet. The bedroom was spacious, though the bathroom was a little small. We had AC, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, slippers, and a minibar with water, soda, and one beer. Beach towels were available if requested. Breakfast was served each morning, with eggs, bread, cheese, jams, sandwiches, quiche, pastries, fruit, and yogurt. A staff member took coffee orders and brought them to the table. There’s indoor seating, but we loved the terrace, shaded by grape vines and overlooking the sea. Francesca welcomed us and made check-in feel personal. She gave us a map, marked a walking route covering the main sights, and showed us around while telling us about the family who owned the building. She also suggested places for lunch and dinner and kindly reserved a table for that evening. If you drive to Ortigia, the hotel’s valet will collect the car and park it in a secure garage. We really enjoyed staying here and would recommend it to couples or solo travelers looking for somewhere quiet and charming on the island. Thanks to everyone at Henry’s House for the hospitality!

The breakfast spread was excellent, with lots of choice and everything high quality. Eating the first meal of the day on the lovely sun terrace was a treat. The staff were cheerful, helpful, and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Henry's House is beautifully placed above the sea, with wonderful sunset views in the evening. Next time, and there will be one, we’ll book a sea-view room instead of one facing the street. Thank you so much.

The hotel is right on the water, just steps from the seaside promenade, and that location was perfect. We were four women traveling together and had plenty of places, both inside and out, to sit and catch up. The staff took excellent care of us, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. It’s a small, pleasant hotel in a once-grand home that had stood abandoned for fifty years. The current owners spent ten years restoring it, and filled it with all sorts of interesting antiques. Breakfast on the patio brought a different range of choices every day, each one better than the last. I overdid it and still didn’t get to taste half of them. I was going to take off a star because my shower didn’t have enough water pressure. My friend mentioned it to Francisco, and within ten minutes he was upstairs with a new shower head that worked perfectly. Thanks for making our trip to Ortigia so enjoyable.

We loved the quiet spot, tucked away but only a short walk from the centre of Ortigia. Our room was spacious, spotless, and had lots of thoughtful touches. The rooftop terrace was a favourite, especially for an aperitivo in the sea breeze before dinner. Breakfast was fresh, nicely presented, and included lovely local choices. The staff were warm and helpful, and made us feel at ease the whole time. We had a wonderful stay at Henry’s Hotel and would happily recommend it. We’ll be back next year!
