Broglia

The hotel needs a lot of renovation, and in its current condition I don’t think it deserves a four-star rating. Breakfast was good, though the selection was limited. The staff gave us very warm service, and I’m especially grateful to the Kazakh girl at reception. She helped us enormously throughout our stay.

The worst part was the €18 parking charge. There wasn’t enough parking, so I had to leave my car at another hotel, but the receipt came from this hotel and didn’t even say “parking.” I don’t know how legal that is, but I’ll look into it. The room smelled awful, and I couldn’t sleep. There was so much dust that covering myself with the blanket made my eyes hurt. My friend slept in her clothes, and the next day they smelled like the whole bed. I’ve never stayed somewhere worse. The reception told us we should have reported the problem, but I asked the neighbours and they said the smell and disgust were the same for them. The building is ancient and needs cleaning and restoration. If I hadn’t arrived at 11 at night, I would have swapped rooms 100%. Stay far away.

Dinner was so good that we ate at the restaurant four nights out of our seven. The waiting staff were a pleasure at every meal, always smiling and attentive through breakfast, dinner, and everything in between, even in 30-degree heat. Everyone made us feel valued. The pool was a lovely place to cool off or sit in the sun, and the central square is only a short walk away. The rooms are a little tired, but that’s outweighed by everything else and, as another review mentioned, gives the hotel some charm. The team were warm, friendly, and fun without ever being imposing. Manager Aziz, Emma, and Thomas at reception were fantastic, and nothing was too much trouble. We had a fabulous stay at Hotel Broglia and hope to be back next year, fingers crossed the same wonderful team is still there.

The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and when anything needed attention the staff sorted it quickly. They do look a bit tired and could use an update, but the friendly service and great location more than made up for that. We had a fantastic long weekend at Hotel Broglia. The pool was lovely for relaxing in the sun, and the restaurant food was as good as the service. Everyone was helpful and friendly, from the breakfast team and reception to the restaurant staff. Aziz made us feel welcome every day, and Stefiy at the bar makes an excellent Pina Colada. We tried quite a few in Sirmione during our trip! I’d definitely recommend staying here.
