Hotel Marolda

We'd booked and paid ahead through booking.com, and the hotel had received my confirmation correctly, but when we arrived there was no room left. They'd overbooked and hadn't told us. We had paid for a room that didn't exist and didn't know where to sleep. The receptionist seemed incompetent and a bit emotional, and somehow seemed to expect a hug 😂. Avoid this place! If this happens, call booking, report the hotel, and you have a right to compensation! 😜 To the owner: please have the receptionist offer tap water and coffee free of charge in cases like this. It's a kind thing to do.

The pool was at another hotel about 1km down the road, not at hotel Marolda. That wasn't a problem, as the other hotel is in a beautiful spot overlooking the lake. We had a lovely stay here. The rooms were modern and the hotel seemed to have been recently renovated. The staff were very attentive.

We were very pleased with everything during our 3-night stay. The rooms are newly renovated and modern, and the staff were fantastic, going above and beyond. Great location, with everything we needed. We'd stay again 100%.

The reception staff were friendly, breakfast was solid, and there were parking spaces right at the hotel. But the room was dirty and poorly cleaned, with mold under the windowsill, wallpaper peeling off, dirt on the walls, cheap materials, and a broken refrigerator that left a chemical smell. After one night I had around 30 bed bug bites all over my body. There were plenty more problems. The hotel was apparently renovated not long ago, but anyone who knows a little about construction can see the work was done very cheaply. We're not especially fastidious, but in my opinion this hotel is just a dazzling place and I wouldn't recommend it for a longer vacation. Luckily, we booked only one night, or we'd have had to find another hotel. Looking back, we also saw that many positive reviews were from before the renovation and were completely misleading. It's ridiculous that the hotel advertises photos of a pool 700 meters away. That fits the overall concept.
