La Perla Apartment

The heating was excellent, and the place did feel welcoming in a lot of ways. Still, the shower in one of the two bathrooms barely let out a trickle, so it couldn't really be used. The connecting rooms were awkward too, since getting through meant constantly disturbing whoever was sleeping there. The owner's attitude was unpleasant the whole time. She only told us in the last few weeks about basic things like the extra charge for sheets, blankets, and towels, and that breakfast items weren't provided. When I arrived, she didn't even say hello. I also really dislike vacation rentals with a strict checkout time, especially when it's already late in the morning and cuts into the time you can use the place. Three stars is plenty. The good parts are there, at least.

After driving 1000 km, we got a message saying our booking had been cancelled. We were suddenly left without anywhere to stay, with our 10-month-old baby. It was an awful experience. The owner doesn't seem to care. We're still speechless, and hope sharing this might spare someone else the same situation. Whatever explanation the owner gives, it won't change what happened to us.
