The mushroom lasagne was the best I’ve ever had. This family run Tuscan restaurant also has friendly, knowledgeable staff. Definitely worth a visit!

The mother cooks, and she’s very good. Her dishes looked appetising and tasted delicious, and she even made sure I could eat as someone with coeliac disease. After struggling to find a satisfying restaurant meal during our holiday, this was a real treat. Albergo sciamoro is my number one in all of Tuscany. Her son served us, chatted with us, and was so courteous that he waited until we were ready to leave without making us feel rushed. We were the only clients that night, and they welcomed us warmly. I know a lot of food in Italy is wheat based, so I’ve learned to choose what suits me. I love Italy, and that’s a small price to pay to be in such a beautiful country. It’s well worth a visit.

The food was excellent, with a very varied menu. When we arrived at the restaurant, the staff greeted us with smiles and were kind and attentive. Albergo Il Sicomoro has recently been renovated to a very high standard.

The alfresco area is superb and the location very inviting. Every meal used fresh local ingredients, with presentation and service at a very high standard. We spent six weeks in Fivizzano during sep/Oct and tried all the restaurants in the area. Il sicomoro was near the top of my list, which is why we went back many times.
