Hotel La Molinella

The room we were eventually given had no balcony, which the lady pointed out, though we hadn’t asked for one. Her manner and the way she handled the situation with us felt unpleasant and unexpected. I was surprised this hotel has so many guests and such a good rating. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it. We had hoped to rest after eight days trekking in Pala Ronda, before a ten-hour drive the next day. The location on our route and the mountain view sounded ideal, and we wanted a relaxing last evening. But the room we paid for had a mountain view, while the one we got was dark and looked onto the road, so we asked to be moved. The young receptionist spoke very little English and didn’t seem to know which rooms were available or who was staying where. He couldn’t reach the woman in charge and asked us to wait for her, without knowing when she’d return. After a mountain trip, we just wanted a shower and a proper rest. When she finally arrived, there was a lot of discussion and not many options before she offered us another room.

There’s a spa and storage for ski equipment at the hotel, and it’s close to several ski centres. We enjoyed the food too, with plenty of options to choose from. A lovely place to stay.

The owners are pleasant and always willing to help. It’s a very good family hotel, with a clean room and a great sauna and spa. Breakfast was a bit limited, but dinner was tasty, with a varied salad bar, two hot dishes, and good desserts.

We were looked after really well, with friendly hosts, great service, and a very good breakfast. A good hotel all around, and we’ll come back.
