Already missing this place. It feels like somewhere you could return to again and again, or even move into. Simona is so sweet and welcoming, her parents are adorable, and the cats make it even better. You get a real feel for family life on a Tuscan farm: hard work, simple living, and above all love and respect for everything, including Pici and Polpette.
Beautiful nature and lots of cute farm animals to see, so it's a paradise for families. The host was really kind and welcoming. It takes a while to drive there, but it's worth it.
Lovely owner who'll spoil you with homemade cakes, local products, and even kittens. It's a great base near Pitigliano, Sovana, and Sorano. Highly recommended, and we'll definitely return.
We'd been looking for somewhere to stay after a long day at Saturnia and had no luck until dusk. At last we took a gravel road to Il Cavone, where Letidio greeted us at the door with wine and glasses. He had an apartment available, and after such a long day it felt like luxury. We managed to chat using our little bit of Italian and his little bit of English. Simone put together a generous breakfast with breads, pastries, cheeses, and fruit. The place was peaceful and comfortable. I wanted to stay a month instead of just one night. One thing to know: don't try to pet the horses without offering them a grass treat, since they might nip and won't appreciate it otherwise.
The area and farm are very nice, and the owner is a nice person, but the apartment we got for four adults was really dirty, with spiders everywhere. I woke up with bedbug bites, and that's the worst part. Hot water ran out after five minutes, so after two showers the water was cold, and the gas didn't work at all.
