Poggio dell'Olivo

The apartment was so spacious, and at night the sky was a beautiful sight. I spent some summer days at Poggio and found it wonderfully relaxing, with a real feeling of being away from everything. The owners were incredibly hospitable.

It’s a good place for anyone wanting peace and quiet. The setting is very quiet, and Pitigliano, with its supermarket and restaurants, is about a 10-15 minute drive away. The smaller village of Sovana is 3.5 km away, with a bakery and three restaurants. Lake Bolsena’s swimming spots take about 45 minutes to reach by car, and Orbetello by the sea is around 1 hour and 15 minutes away. The Poggio dell'Olivo agriturismo near Pittigliano is a small, pleasant complex of three apartments that share a pool and outdoor space. There’s also a shared washing machine for an extra charge. Each apartment has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two singles. In Casa B, be aware that wardrobes divide the bedrooms, but there are no doors between them. Otherwise, the apartments are clean, well maintained, and have good amenities. The owner is there every day to care for the garden. Families might find it suitable, though there isn’t much nearby and the pool is quite small, about 3.5m in diameter.

There’s no pool at this building. It’s been closed for over a year. With millions of flies around, sitting outside in the fresh air to relax is impossible. The room was unbearably hot, and the fan was useless. All it did was make noise, so we couldn’t sleep.

The setting is lovely, quiet, and surrounded by nature. The farmhouse has every comfort, and the owner is very kind. Recommended.
