B&B Sorrento Queen

The staff were helpful, and it was easy to reach them on WhatsApp. Breakfast was nice, too. The rooms were clean and pleasant, with plenty of hot water, and they even have Netflix. We stayed in room 5, where there was no mold despite what others had said. The location is a short walk from the city centre, with the bonus that you can get there by car.

The hotel has potential. It's in a very walkable area, parking nearby is a big plus, check-in instructions are clear, and they provide free water. The minibar prices are reasonable. The nightly rate was the lowest we found, and it was more or less a bed and breakfast. But the windows don't keep out the cold well. That might be manageable with the air conditioner, except other guests smoked outside and smoke filled our room all night. I'm pregnant, so avoiding cigarette smoke while sleeping was crucial for me. They should either tell guests not to smoke on the terrace or improve the window sealing. The bathroom also needs a better clean. Removing the moldy silicone would be a quick, easy fix that would make a big difference.

There were ants everywhere, including on the walls, floors, towels, and in the bed. We couldn't stay for our whole booking. The property knew about the problem but expected guests to handle the pest control themselves. I understand some places and climates attract ants more than others, but this was completely unacceptable. We asked to move rooms and were told the property was full, even though keys were hanging behind reception and the room next to us was empty. When we checked out early, nobody took responsibility or tried to fix anything. They just stared and said nothing. The bathroom also had mold and mildew, the light switch cover kept falling off and was held on with hot glue, and the towel rack was rusty.

The room was below ground level, very humid, and got no natural sunlight. The walls and windows stayed wet, and the little dehumidifier was completely full after one night. With those conditions, the space seemed like a clear breeding ground for mold and mildew. There were visible stains and growth on the walls, floorboards, and bathroom tiles. My fiancé and I both became ill during the stay, which we believe may have been related to spending so much time in that room. When we raised our concerns, the host said there was “no way” it could be mold because previous guests hadn't complained. She didn't apologize, inspect the room, or offer a solution. We asked to move, but were told the property was fully booked despite the adjacent rooms being empty. The lack of concern, accountability, or effort to address what we felt was a legitimate health issue was extremely disappointing. 0/10, I wouldn't recommend it.
