The mold smell hit me as soon as I arrived, and when I complained, I was told nothing could be done then. They later offered to clean the mold, but by that point I'd booked another hotel, Palazzo Tasso, which cost about the same and was a huge improvement. Other guests had complained about this too, so why wasn't it cleaned before arrival? I can't stress this enough: don't stay here. The stairs are endless, the experience was the worst I've had in a hotel, and it was a complete waste of money.

My two couples were left on the sidewalk while trying to check in for their four-night stay. They had tried calling and messaging Agostino by phone and WhatsApp, but got no answer. Neither the clients nor I received the email that was supposed to arrive a few days before, and the owner's claim that he didn't have our contact details is untrue. I also tried to reach him for them and got no response. I had to take several steps before they finally got access. He only replied the next day, after I asked for a refund. Once inside, the guests found the building dilapidated, unsanitary, unsafe, and nothing like the rental listings. They left the next morning for somewhere better, but the owner won't refund them for the misrepresentation. Legal proceedings against the supplier and hotel are planned in the coming days. I work as a travel advisor and sold them this stay. Avoid this place, and don't trust the positive advice.

Our honeymoon stay was awful. The booking page and video didn't show how many stairs there were, including the red steps inside the entrance. The listing said the room was on the third floor, but it was actually the fourth. We found the bathroom floor, pillows, refrigerator, and remote control dirty, as shown in the pictures I took. We stayed one night, and the other three nights were wasted.

We were delighted with the location for our honeymoon, right by Marina Grande with easy access to the beach and restaurants. Agostino was friendly and quick to respond, helping with our email questions and checking in before and during the trip. The one drawback is the steep climb of many steps to and from the room. It isn't something anyone can control, but be prepared for it. We had a great stay at the Caruso and absolutely recommend it.
