Casa a Mare

Our room at Casa a Mare was cozy, clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated, and the host welcomed us warmly with delicious breakfasts each morning. The shower was a little cramped, which seemed pretty normal in Italy. From the balcony, we could watch beautiful sunsets, and the fresh seafood and friendly people added to a wonderful stay in magical Sorrento.

The view is amazing, but at 700 Euros I didn't think it was worth dealing with everything else. Getting to the hotel means walking about 150 metres downhill on broad steps, so don't bring luggage. Our host was meant to meet us outside, but arrived late, leaving us unsure for ages if we'd found the right place. It was noisy from the street, the wedding venues next door, and people using the inside stairs for breakfast as early as 7:30. A dog also barked constantly when left alone. Breakfast looked beautiful, though we had to fend off pigeons and seagulls while eating.

The terrace was a wonderful place for evening wine and winding down, and the rooms and beds were comfortable. Casa a Mare is in a fabulous spot near good restaurants, beaches, and attractions. Getting there can take some effort, but it was worth it for the gracious, welcoming owners and the heavenly homemade breakfast each morning. I can't praise the place and hostesses enough. One thing to know: the showers are on the small side if you're a bigger person. Thank you, Silvana and staff ♥️♥️🇮🇪♥️

We had a memorable, authentic Italian week at Casa a Mare. Our room and the roof terrace both had stunning views over Marina Grande, and the old town was a ten-minute walk away. The warm, welcoming hosts brought a generous breakfast each morning, with lovely homemade pastries that set us up for sightseeing. Highly recommended.
