Dreamers' Rooms Sorrento

The rooms are fairly new and quite decent, and it’s about a 10-minute walk to the historic center. But there’s no reception, so you have to arrange a meeting time. We hadn’t realized that. They said they’d been trying to call all day, though apparently they hadn’t figured out that an American number needs +1 on the booking. When I called and said we’d be there in 15 minutes, he said he’d arrive in 20. We waited 45 minutes on a cold street, then got a text saying another colleague was coming because of traffic. She said 10 minutes, and took another 15. If a place has no reception, it needs self check-in or staff nearby and available in the evenings if it wants five stars. I wouldn’t do it again.

We had booked four months ahead, but our reservation was cancelled without explanation just two days before arriving in Sorrento, while we were already in Italy. We were traveling with another couple and ended up split up. The owner of Dreamer’s did nothing to help us find another hotel and wouldn’t answer our calls or Expedia’s. Expedia was great and found us a new place. Do not book here.

The location and the host’s check-in service were the only good parts of this accommodation. The room felt overpriced for what it was, and I was disappointed by the cleanliness. The walls were thin enough that we could hear the neighbors playing music. What can you expect on the Amalfi Coast, I guess.

We had a great stay. The location was five minutes from the center, the rooms were clean, and communication was great.
