Maison Marie

We loved having shops, cafes, mini markets, and restaurants just a short walk from Maison Marie. It's a great spot for exploring Sorrento, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcome with their friendliness and local knowledge. Our family of four stayed in the Sophia room. The sleeping setup worked well, with a double bed on the modern mezzanine and a converted sofa bed. The room was spotless and regularly cleaned. It also has a sweet little balcony overlooking the busy streets. Though the hotel feels like a peaceful retreat, church and school bells sometimes rang and could be a bit annoying. The Sophia room's charm and quirky feel made the stay memorable. We had an excellent family trip, thanks to the room, the location, and the service. We'd recommend Maison Marie Hotel to anyone wanting a comfortable stay in the heart of Sorrento.

The rooms were clean and spacious, with loads of room. The bathroom was spotless too, and the shower had strong water pressure, which I liked.

We felt right at home here. The rooms have been beautifully renovated and were clean and comfortable. Even though the hotel is on the middle of the Main Street, our room stayed quiet. The staff were AMAZING. They helped us get dinner reservations before our trip when we couldn't get through ourselves, and let us check in as soon as our room was ready. After we got back to Canada, my wife had trouble arranging a package for my mother, so we asked if the hotel could receive it for her to collect. Debra and Tony agreed right away and went above and beyond. We'll definitely return and tell our friends. Excellent.

We stayed for two nights, and there were no fresh towels after the room was cleaned on the second day. When I asked at reception, I received just one extra towel and was told new towels are only provided from the third night. That was inconvenient for a short stay. The main problem was the hot water. After we'd been to the beach, there wasn't properly hot water for a shower. I reported it to the front desk. The staff member seemed to try different things, but nothing fixed it, and she appeared to be the only person working. She checked the water and said there was no problem, even though it was clearly much colder than the previous morning, when it had been almost too hot to touch. We were asked to wait 5 to 10 minutes, but waited about an hour and still had to shower in water that felt cold and got colder as it ran. We only got properly hot water later that evening, after dinner. Nobody apologized, and we were treated as though nothing was wrong. I wanted her to try showering herself so she could understand what we meant. From what happened, it seemed the place couldn't provide enough hot water when several guests were using it at once. Since she said “the system has no issues,” I got the impression that the supply might be limited by design. If there are limits on water temperature, guests should be told beforehand. We weren't. The property has a shop on the ground floor and rooms on the second floor. Based on our stay, you may not be able to have a warm shower when you need one, and nobody may be able to sort it out. You can end up wasting valuable travel time waiting. If you want to avoid that, I'd suggest booking somewhere else. But if you like cold showers, go ahead and reserve.
