I paid for the Orange room through the website, but after I arrived, a woman messaged me on WhatsApp and tried to move me to the Blue room. I sent her my receipt showing the Orange room. She said rooms needed approval at check-in and claimed Americans thought they could do things without permission. She told me I needed to learn manners and ask first, and that she wouldn’t let me stay in that room. I removed the sheets from the Orange room bed and sent her a photo. After that, she had no choice but to leave me there. It was a very strange exchange. Luckily, I could get into the room and stay in the one I’d actually paid for.

We had a very bad check-in experience. We booked the Orange room on the website, but after we arrived, the owner's secretary tried to switch us to the smaller Blue room. There wasn’t room to open our suitcases, and it felt cramped. She assumed we were Americans and lectured us about Americans and Italians, portraying Americans as less educated because we wouldn’t accept the room change. She said the Orange room hadn’t been approved for us. She didn’t know we weren’t American, since we never sent her copies of our passports. I don’t recommend this place. They discriminate against Americans.

Melania was an amazing host and made everything easy. The rooms were clean and had what we needed for a comfortable stay. It’s a five-minute walk to the heart of Sorrento, and I thought it was great value for the money. I’d recommend it to anyone holidaying there.

A generally great place, very clean, with a comfortable bed. The air conditioning didn’t work, though, and the parking mentioned on the website turns out to be a very expensive public lot. One night cost 36€, which is too much.

I spent three nights at Malù in March 2024 and would highly recommend it. The location felt safe, quiet, and convenient. Melania helped me through WhatsApp with check-in and any questions, and Tatiana was there in person and served a great breakfast.
