So' Lifestyle Hotel Sorrento

The staff were so pleasant, helpful, patient with my 4-year-old daughter and mother-in-law, and just fun to be around. I honestly can’t remember staying at a hotel with a better team. The rooms were very clean, and the whole property was kept shiny and tidy. The location is ideal, just off the main strip but still an easy walk. We had a great stay.

For the price, this was a great find. The hotel was clean, the pool was lovely and peaceful after a day out, and everyone was friendly, helpful, and knew the area well. Our room was a bit small and short on storage, especially for a family with lots of stuff. It’s about a 25-minute walk into Sorrento, which worked for us, but expect plenty of walking since taxis are pricey. I was really happy with it for the price.

We had a really enjoyable stay. The hotel was extremely clean, our balcony had a wonderful view, and the breakfast was really good with amazing service. The staff were lovely, and Francesco was a great host throughout. The front desk were always kind and ready to help.

I booked dinner at the hotel, but when I chose to pay in EUR to avoid exchange losses, the staff charged me in USD despite my clear objection. That cost me unnecessary conversion fees and money. When I brought it up, they said they’d been told to charge only in USD, refused to cancel the transaction right away because of staff hours and internal procedures, and used the holidays as a reason to delay sorting it out. Manager Sergio didn’t apologize or take responsibility. They said they’d charge me again after the refund cleared, but then charged my card after I’d checked out, without my consent. Problems can happen anywhere. What made this unacceptable was the dishonesty, deflection, and unauthorized charge, and the failure to resolve things properly. This was one of my worst experiences at a hotel, and it has nothing to do with Italy. I’ve travelled widely around the country and had excellent service elsewhere. Sorrento is beautiful and has plenty of well-run hotels. If you care about transparency and how your money is handled, I’d avoid this one. I’m sharing this honestly so other guests know. For Korean readers: Their problem-solving was terrible. The view is pretty and breakfast was fine, but I was extremely stressed over the money issue. They kept lying to avoid taking responsibility for their own mistake. I wondered why I should put up with this kind of stress on vacation when there are so many other choices. The unauthorized card charge says it all. I’m leaving this for the public good.
