Hotel Tourist

Breakfast and the shower were good, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and served by an elevator. The bed was hard, though, and traffic noise from the street was loud and seemed never-ending. That's why I rated it three stars. It's on the main street of Sorrento, at the corner of Corsa Italia and Niave Nizza, not in Piazza Tasso.

The location in the heart of sorrento is good, and the food was certainly unusual: a whole orange plant for dessert, then pasta with ground meat and egg for the main. It was a unique experience. The stay itself was a complete waste of money. The pillows were yellow, the sheets had brown stains, the shower didn't work, and the toilet wouldn't flush. I'd come for the food, but definitely not stay here.

A good three-star hotel, with tasty breakfast and a nice selection. It's about a 10-minute walk from the city center and just five minutes from the train station. The hotel is connected to a tiny laundrette, and using it was pretty affordable.

We paid €700 for two nights, a lot of money even though this is a cheap hotel by Sorrento standards, and I wish we'd booked somewhere better. The rooms were dirty and dated, and the bathrooms had mould. The pool stayed closed for our entire visit, with no apparent reason given. At reception, a small confusion over the booking name turned into the woman shouting angrily at us, including two pensioners in our group. She was hostile and confrontational from the moment we arrived. When we raised the problem, the owner was just as rude and accused us of causing trouble. I've visited more than 90 countries, and this was the worst hotel experience I've had. Avoid it.
