What I'll miss most is hearing the river in the morning. Waking up to the beautiful view each day made me so happy. The food was delicious and high quality, and I didn't lack for anything at the hotel. The staff were incredibly warm, friendly and helpful. The two waiters and the housekeeping team deserve special recognition for their excellent service.

I wasn't happy with breakfast. It was supposed to run until 10 am, but when I arrived at 9:30, nearly all the tables were empty and staff were clearing away the remaining food. They told me the croissants were all gone when I asked for some, so we left without a proper breakfast. Starting to clear everything while breakfast is still being served doesn't feel respectful to guests. I also had very weak Wi-Fi in the room, with a good signal only near the entrance. Dinner was quite nice. There was a large salad selection, and you could choose the soup and first and second courses from the menu; the dishes were very good. There's also a bar for a drink before or after dinner. I booked breakfast and dinner, and could use the spa and swimming pool until 7 pm. The hotel provided a bathrobe and towel. The staff were friendly, and some spoke English. The exterior is very cute, the location isn't bad, and the view from the suites is good, but the hotel and its interior are quite old. You can get a room with a window or a balcony. One serious bathroom issue: the bathtub is extremely slippery and feels unstable when showering. There was no parking available, so I had to park on the road to the hotel. I probably wouldn't recommend it as a good hotel. I'd suggest the Post hotel, 100 m away, for better conditions. It wasn't worth what I paid.

I've been spending summers in Solda at Hotel Marlet for 32 years, and it still feels like home. The owners are delightful and accommodating, and the food, views across the valley, luxury rooms and spa are hard to beat for the affordable prices. I also notice that the one-star reviews seem politically motivated, apparently from people objecting to a particular politician vacationing here, rather than from actual guests. I don't know why Google keeps them up.

I've spent my holidays at Hotel Marlet for 35 years. The owners' hospitality is exquisite, and the comfort, food and value are difficult to find elsewhere. I believe some recent negative reviews come from foolish opponents of a well-known politician, not from hotel guests who know the place.

The sauna and wellness area has beautiful mountain views, and there's even a hot tub where you can watch butterflies flit around the wildflowers. From every room, there's a stunning view of Mount Ortles. Breakfast includes local honey, jams, yogurts, berries, cheese and meat, while the five-course dinners are sublime. The staff are attentive and helpful, and the prices are reasonable. It feels luxurious without being stuffy or pretentious. This is my seventh summer at Hotel Marlet, and I can't think of a better mountain retreat for peace and quiet. The recent one-star reviews about 'questionable guests' are nonsense.
