Hotel Royal

The pool was great and very clean, and there was plenty of parking. The staff were polite and accommodating, with lots of information when we checked in. Our room was elegant and spacious, with a balcony looking out over the front of the hotel. It’s a two-minute walk to the lake.

The pool and the location are gorgeous, and I loved the honeymoon room and the tasty treats with a note. That made my new husband and me feel amazing. The room was well worth it, and the breakfast buffet was the best I’ve ever seen. But the staff were unpleasant when we asked for help, and had attitudes on multiple occasions. We stopped asking them. For the money we paid, we expected better customer service. We stayed in four places, and this was the only one where we felt so unwelcome.

The photos don’t do this charming hotel or the area justice. We didn’t expect it to be so beautiful. Our room had a balcony and a comfortable bed, and the bar and restaurant served great food. You may pay for a three-star hotel, but you get five-star luxury and amenities. It’s within walking distance of town and the local ferries to the islands. The lake is large, and downtown has plenty of cute shops and places to get a reasonably priced, great meal. I’d plan on spending three days here. I highly recommend the area and hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay and couldn’t fault much. The pool was great on hot days, and the air conditioning wasn’t intrusive. Our room was a little small, but perfectly adequate for us. Breakfast had a good spread, and the lounge area had especially nice ambience. The staff were friendly. It’s a short walk to the island ferry boarding point, about 15 minutes into town and 10 minutes to the station.
