A very basic room looking onto a light shaft, in an apartment on the third floor. There’s no reception, and arriving on the 11pm daily flight from Rome costs extra. I liked the fan and how quiet it was. The bathroom is separate, and a hair dryer is available. No car park, but you can find parking somewhere around the old part of town. Good bars are within walking distance. Seems suited to young people or couples.

The location is right in the center, which is the one good thing. The rest was rough. The staircase behind the front door was filthy, the room was dusty and poorly cleaned, and the sheets were worn. The towels looked older than my 32 years. The double bed was two beds pushed together, the TV didn’t work, and the fridge barely cooled. The “private bathroom” was only private once you went in and locked the door. You couldn’t leave anything there and lock it while away. The water heater took 10 minutes to heat the water before a shower. There was no cellular reception in the room, and at check-in the host said to pay for Wi-Fi because there was no connection there. On my first night out, the front door wouldn’t open at first, though it eventually did. An employee said I must have tried the wrong door, then said I had the wrong key. When those excuses didn’t make sense, she suggested I might have been drunk.

We spent 7 nights here while touring the south of the island. The rooms are in a very central spot, and the place was clean and well equipped. Staff were welcoming and really friendly.

The location is good, but the room was so dirty that I was shocked when I looked under the bed and tried to clean it myself. The sheets didn’t smell clean either. I’d still rather stay somewhere clean with service that cares.
