Hotel La Residenza Messina

The room was clean and cosy, with everything I needed, and the bed was so comfortable I slept really well. Breakfast was tasty and had a good range of choices. The staff were lovely and genuinely friendly from the moment I arrived. A really pleasant stay, and I’d be glad to come back.

There are lots of good restaurants just seconds away, and the large square with shops is only a few blocks off. Street parking is plentiful, though it’s free only from 2030 to 0830. The room was spacious, the water pressure was great, and it was fairly quiet. The staff were fantastic, friendly, and very helpful when we had some local problems. The location is excellent. Breakfast is available, with the usual European options.

The food and staff were amazing, and I loved the pool. It’s a 15-minute walk into Taormina, so you’re away from the tourists.

The location worked well for the train station, sights, and restaurants. I think I had room # 313, a corner room toward the side or back of the hotel. Patrizia and Monica arranged my after-hours check-in and were both pleasant, helpful, and competent. The kitchenette was closed, though I could use the mini refrigerator. I didn’t try breakfast, so I can’t comment on it. Some reviews were very negative, but that wasn’t how my stay went. I’d come back if the price were competitive.
