Hotel Cleopatra

It’s a family-run place, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool was cold but refreshing, so don’t let its color put you off. The hotel is just a little too far from the center for us, and some of the roads on foot were tricky.

We had a terrible stay, and I’d never return or recommend it. The kind staff were a bright spot, but that wasn’t enough. There were mosquitoes in the room and by the pool, and the windows weren’t fully sealed, so we couldn’t rest, especially once the birds started singing at 5 am. There was no fridge or minibar, and the shower didn’t always have hot water. The pool had thermal water for only two of our eight days. Breakfast was extremely poor, and dinner was just as bad, with only two courses. I’ve never seen anything like it. The hotel should drop to two stars, with prices that match the service. The glowing reviews make me wonder who writes them.

Hotel Cleopatra was a fantastic stay. The island is stunning, and I’d highly recommend visiting and staying here. Our room was large and kept spotless with daily cleaning. It had a very comfortable bed, TV, bathroom with a powerful shower and hair dryer, and a balcony with a table and chairs. Owner Michele was welcoming, and it’s clear many guests come back every year. Breakfast was continental, with lots of pastries and croissants, cereal, yogurt, meats, cheeses, and coffee. It’s a short five-minute walk to either the port or the castle. The swimming pool was clean, with loungers and umbrellas around it. I also noticed level access into the hotel and disability-friendly ground-floor rooms with a shower that had a drop-down seat and rail. Thanks to Michele and family for a great stay.

The food was excellent, proper Italian “Casalinga” cooking, and the pool was good too. It’s a clean, family-run hotel in a lovely quiet spot, an easy walk from the harbour. The staff were VERY friendly.
