For Taormina, which is lovely but expensive, this villa is great value. It's comfortable and spacious enough for a family, or even a wedding or birthday party for 30 people, and local caterers are available. Just keep in mind that the top floor is a separate home if you're planning anything noisy or late.

We spent a year putting together our own Grand Tour of Italy to celebrate Tom finishing his career in the city, and wrapped it up with four weeks in Sicily. We began in Messina, passed through Taormina, then travelled around the rest of the island. We soon understood why people locally call Taormina the ‘Pearl of Sicily’, with lovely views at every turn. Villa Krater is right in the heart of it, and it felt like a real treat to spend a week there. We had two Sicilian feasts on the grand terrace, both utterly delicious. We'd definitely recommend it. And Audacity’s three puppies are gorgeous!

The grand terrace at Villa Krater, with its panoramic views, was perfect for our yoga retreat in Taormina. We came as an international group and loved waking up to the seascape, fishing boats below, and the bustle of Giardini Naxos. We also got to meet Audacity's gorgeous puppies as they were leaving, just before our arrival.

We hired Villa Krater for our crew during The Taormina Film Festival, and used it for an after party too. The views are fabulous, and Audacity was so helpful with local recommendations.

We came from Paris as a group of friends for a week of hiking on Mt. Etna, and stayed at the villa as our base. It was wonderful to see Etna right from the villa. Such a beautiful spot.
