DIONISO Bed and Wellness

Ambrosia had a distinctive feature: a big stone hot tub with chromotherapy. The room was clean and relaxing, with chilled water, sparkling wine, coffee pods, coffee service, and snacks. The owner welcomed me warmly, helped me with the keys, and showed me how to use the tub. After three years abroad, I felt at home and looked after. Bed & Wellness is tucked down an alley in old Taranto, near the Duomo, a lovely base for wandering its lanes, churches, unusual buildings, traditional eateries, and underground passages. It's a small but very welcoming place. I'll definitely return to the Dioniso Bed & Wellness.

Francesco, the manager, knows so much about the city's history and was full of stories, advice, and help. His tips made us want to come back and see more of a city with plenty to offer. We were just finishing the Route of the Two Seas, and the clean, welcoming property with its hot tub was a real treat. Francesco is extraordinary. Highly recommended, and we'll return!

I booked online at about 1:00 PM the same day and could check in by 3:00 PM. The owner met me outside the hotel and explained how everything worked. The jacuzzi was a wonderful surprise, with lots of hot water that soothed my tired legs. There were no windows, but the room felt like a luxury cave spa, and I could really unwind. For the price and facilities, it's the best place I've stayed. One headache: avoid booking through Trip.com. I paid online, but apparently there was an issue with the owner's system, so he said I'd need to pay again there and send the receipt to Trip.com for a refund. Without Italian, I might have thought it was a double scam. They said the refund would come within 24 hours, but sorting it out was extremely tedious.

Francesco was kind and helpful, answering our questions quickly and putting us at ease straight away. We only spent one night there, but had a truly lovely time. The location is beautiful and relaxing, and being central made it easy to reach most of the city. Highly recommended.
