In the morning, have a cup of coffee while looking at the city from the window. The Lungomare and the taxi stand are both only two blocks away. The room was clean and had hot water, but you have to use steps to get everywhere, including the elevator. That wasn’t good for me on crutches, and it wouldn’t suit wheelchair users either. There’s plenty of public transport, and lots of private vehicles on both single-lane and multi-lane roads. The location is great if you don’t mind street noise. Parking is hard to find, especially after 5 p.m. when the shops reopen.

I stayed one night for €56. It was really excellent, with peace and cleanliness both well taken care of. The apartment is small but cute, and the bedroom was comfortable. There’s a large bathroom with recently installed amenities, plus two little terraces with chairs where you can smoke quietly and look out at the sea and buildings. The kitchenette is tucked into a closet, but it’s very functional and has everything you need. There’s an LED TV and air conditioning. The apartment door opens with a key or a number from the owner, and I appreciated the code on the front door too. Valentina always replies to messages, even when she’s not in the building. Street parking is paid.

The central location was good, and the room stayed comfortable without needing the air conditioning, though it was there if needed. Parking is paid during the day. The kitchen needs attention, as it’s poorly equipped and not well maintained.
