B&B San Francesco

The location is excellent, near the museum and the stop for my bus from Matera. The room was okay, though getting to it meant climbing a steep, narrow stairway. There's no Wi-Fi in the room, and the connection downstairs is slow. Breakfast wasn't plentiful, but the quality was good.

The old town has lovely architecture and a real medieval feel. It gets noisy in the evening, though, with lots of tourists around.

We were left waiting in the rain after calling with no answer, then told to collect the keys from the ice cream shop. The place was awful, and the room smelled musty and moldy. Inside, everything was dirty, including the pillow. I've stayed in much better places in Taranto, so I wouldn't recommend this one. The low room price says enough, it felt like a rip-off.

Four nights, one roll of toilet paper, no soap, and no room cleaning. The blankets were old, dirty, stained, and smelled awful. The rooms were small and dirty with mold. Calls and repeated texts went unanswered. I absolutely do not recommend it.
