Residence Blue Bay Resort

From outside, the hotel looks really nice, but indoors it was dirty and unattractive. You have to pay for extra services. The food was a whole separate issue. We ate at the hotel restaurant because there was nowhere else nearby. They offered only a couple of dishes, and after ordering, we were told to come back in 35 minutes. We finally got a table after 50 minutes. The first course took another 30 minutes, and the other two arrived only after 45. We ordered two grilled sawfish dishes; one was completely raw, they never brought the salad, and the wine came in bakals instead of a bottle. I did feel sorry for the girl, who had to run between the tables and kitchen while also working reception on her own. Please do something about the service, and feed the two cats that spent the whole evening in the restaurant with us.

The location by the sea is brilliant, though it's a little hard to find, so don't rely on Google Maps for the last few blocks. The apartments are very basic but sufficient. One problem: after doing the dishes, flushing the sink made the shower flood. The swimming pool is really nice, and the breakfast spot is lovely with friendly staff. The restaurant was closed, and I'm not sure whether that's permanent. That was a downside since there aren't any decent restaurants within walking distance.

The food was good, and the place seems like the only decent, higher-level option in the neighborhood. Still, take care when ordering. We said we weren't very hungry and wanted just one fish fillet, not a whole fish. An English-speaking waiter translated that for the local waiter, but after an hour we were surprised to be served the whole fish, which was overpriced. I'd still suggest stopping by to look around and maybe have a starter.

We booked for seven people at bluebay Rezidence Resort in Taranto for January 2 and paid the full €68 in advance. I entered 22:00 as our arrival time, then a delay at the port meant I changed it to 23:00-00:00. Booking confirmed the change. We got there at 23:30 and spent over an hour trying to reach reception to have the gate opened, with no luck. My friends and I ended up in a car overnight with three small children. In the morning, reception agreed to refund the accommodation cost, but nine days later nothing had reached my card. The hotel doesn't answer my calls. What can I do to get my money back? My review wasn't posted either. Why?
