Suite Le Perle

The breakfast was a real plus for me: it was booked and brought right to the room, and there was a good selection. The decor is pretty, the shower is great, and the bed and pillows are comfortable. The place is very central, and the staff were friendly. Getting in was a different story. There are buzzers, codes, and boxes to work through, almost like an escape room if you arrive after a certain time. I understand the security, but my mother would never have managed alone. The stairs up to the mezzanine are tight, and the wall narrows the passage as you climb. The building entrance is also coming apart, with plaster left on the floor. We never met the host, though she was available on WhatsApp. Two women handled the cleaning and breakfast. Our balcony faced the main street, so the view was good, but noise carried on until 1 or 2 a.m. We slept fine with the balcony closed, though it's worth knowing. We initially booked through a booking site, then contacted the property with questions and were asked to cancel and book directly. The owner honored the reservation, but looking back, I think a discount would have been fair given the saved fees and the guarantees we gave up. I paid the morning after arriving, but had to ask for a fiscal receipt after checkout. Even then, they first sent a copy of the card payment by mistake, and I had to point this out again before getting the receipt. That left a bitter taste after an otherwise mostly positive stay.
