The rooms were cramped and the beds creaked, with mattresses that seemed left over from the First World War. Breakfast was extremely sparse, and for the quality it was way too expensive.

The owner was courteous and helpful, the one bright point in what was otherwise a completely negative stay. I wouldn’t recommend Agriturismo La Vigna. The room itself was acceptably clean, but the terraces and chairs outside were dirty and sometimes moldy. The attic rooms looked old and poorly kept, with sagging, uncomfortable mattresses and floor tiles that seemed close to coming loose. A basic shower curtain surrounds the shower, and after just a few minutes it floods the bathroom. There are no window screens, so insects can get in. Getting there was unpleasant too. The access road is in terrible shape, especially for motorcycles, with deep potholes, gravel, and uneven ground where it’s easy to lose traction. The natural setting might sound appealing, but the surrounding area is strewn with abandoned materials, old cars, scrap metal, and other things left to decay. Breakfast takes place in an old farmhouse where wine was once made. It has a quaint feel, but the whole structure seems to have been left as it was for hundreds of years. Breakfast was enough to taste a few things, though nothing special or memorable. At this price I expected basic comfort and amenities. The property has a lot of shortcomings, and friendliness alone couldn’t make up for them.

The location is good, and the owner is friendly. The room was clean, though the furnishings are very old but not falling apart. It’s surrounded by greenery, but outside was quite dry and dusty, and not only because of the season. It won’t work well for anyone with allergies or limited mobility. You can’t dine there since they no longer cook, and you’ll need a car for transfers.

The owners were warm and welcoming, and the farmhouse is lovely, tucked into Gallura’s greenery and quiet. A very relaxing place. Highly recommended.

What makes this place special is its setting and its people. It’s deep in the Gallura countryside, charming and nicely secluded, but still only steps from amenities. The rooms are clean and average. Mr. Giuseppe and his wife really stood out for their kindness and warmth. Breakfast in the old Gallura stone farmhouse was another lovely experience. Highly recommend it.
