Hotel Wiedenhofer

We spent a great week here. After hearty breakfasts, it was an excellent base for mountain hikes, and the pool and sauna were lovely for resting afterwards. There’s a big range of tasty wood-fired pizzas, and the kitchen serves wonderful food from Italian and local specialties to international dishes. On the south-facing terrace, we enjoyed fruit and ice cream bowls, sometimes with a nice cold drink. For this part of the world, Guinness on tap was a fun surprise, and we had it more than once. The rooms were comfortable too.

Wiedenhofer is in a peaceful spot close to several ski resorts, so it worked really well for a winter getaway. The rooms are cosy with beautiful views, and the food was delicious. We also loved the hospitality. I can’t wait to return!

We stayed two nights at this charming family-run hotel in terento while exploring the dolomites. The room views are incredible, and there’s a mini market two minutes away on foot, with the sand piramids a 20 minute walk away. After a day out, we came back and shared amazing regional food with friends, including goulash, pork steak, and apple strudel. The family who run the hotel are truly wonderful and took time to chat with us during our stay. When they learned we’d just got married, they put flowers and wine in our room while we were at dinner. We’ll come back next time we’re in the area.

The terrace is a real plus for taking in the nice views, and the rooms are clean and adequately equipped, though the decor feels old-fashioned. Service was okay. Breakfast is simple; sometimes dishes run out and you have to wait for them to be replenished, and sometimes they aren’t refilled if you arrive late. Dinner was very nice, well served, and included a variety of local dishes. The shop is across the road. The spa wasn’t useful to us, though it’s good that it’s available. The bar and restaurant were okay, and the pizza was okay too. The price seemed fair for the quality and standards.
