I only visited the cafe, so I can't comment on the hotel. The ice cream is excellent, but the service could be friendlier. The staff seemed stressed and made us feel it. I ordered chocolate and got nougat instead. I told them, and they said, “This is our normal chocolate ice cream.” That would be fine if they made it clear on the menu. People who like nougat may not mind, or could even be happy with it, but for others it's an unpleasant surprise. The staff didn't understand my point. It wasn't a good experience for me.

The staff were so friendly and went out of their way with breakfast. Before arriving, I asked if they had vegan options, and they brought out lots of things for me, including vegan yoghurt, milk, and spreads. They even went to a local shop each morning to get me vegan brioche. Thank you! I had a lovely stay at Garni Wieterer. The room was modern and had good air conditioning. There was a pool in the garden overlooking the wine fields, and the location was ideal, with bus and train stops close by for exploring nearby mountains and villages.
