Agriturismo La Targa

We never got to judge the farm or hotel itself because, after arriving late, we were told there was no room and sent to a small hotel in a nearby town. There was no apology or explanation, just a blunt statement that this was what we had to do. We did eat at their restaurant that evening and regretted it. The meal was awful and overpriced for the quality. It didn't seem like farm produce at all, more like cheap supermarket meat and vegetables. At 20 euros per person, I expected much better ingredients and cooking. The included breakfast was just as disappointing, with bakery items in plastic bags, a little butter and jam, and food that was mostly bland and unimaginative.

The staff tried hard to help, which is why I feel bad writing this, but the place was a nightmare. I expected somewhere quiet from the location. Instead, when I arrived at 1 am, there was a rave with thousands of elderly people, loud bossanova and the cheesiest Italian music blasting. They said to follow the private road to our room, but there wasn't really a road. I had to drive through a fecking TREE that completely blocked it with its branches, scratching the side of my car. The room felt like a bunker but wasn't soundproof, so the music went on until 3 am. The sheets were dirty, the shower was mouldy, and the surroundings looked post-apocalyptic. Mosquitoes ate me alive. I got only four hours of sleep, then at 7 pm the shower in the next room woke me up because it was so loud. Breakfast was like K ration, old packaged industrial food, and even the coffee was terrible. Such a letdown for a place that's meant to be an agriturismo. I got out as fast as I could. Don't go there, ever.

We were in the middle of nature at a really lovely place, and nothing seemed to be a problem. The staff wanted to do whatever guests asked: when my wife requested fruit tea, she got tea and a plate piled with fresh fruit. Italians really don't understand English, but that's how they do things here.

Don't go there! This is a fake agriturismo. The restaurant uses low-quality supermarket products instead of its own produce, as an agriturismo should. The tomatoes had no taste, and the meat was gross.
