Ortler

Hotel Ortler had a welcoming, family-run feel, and my husband and I had a very relaxing two-night stay. The rooms and food were simply excellent. We felt very comfortable and would gladly return. I can highly recommend it.

We couldn’t really relax during our October stay, and felt the price wasn’t justified. Our north-facing room on the third floor was extremely noisy: every footstep from next door and above came through, and children were stomping upstairs and beside us from 6:20 a.m. Sleeping in wasn’t an option. The wardrobe smelled musty, and the old, worn carpet and rustic furniture could use attention. The spring mattresses were very hard, though a topper helped; Febreze freshened up the wardrobe. On the plus side, the room was very large, with a newly renovated bathroom and a spacious new balcony. We booked breakfast only. It was decent and plentiful overall, with delicious cream cheese spread, egg salad, chutney, Bircher muesli, and yogurt, although the bread and rolls varied in quality. The staff were attentive and friendly. We also appreciated the free underground parking, but it was locked until morning after 10:30 p.m., so it couldn’t be used later at night. The hotel is centrally located in town and had recently been renovated on the outside. Daniel welcomed us warmly and showed us around. The interior is somewhat traditional, tidy and clean, though some carpeting needs repair. The indoor pool smelled strongly of chlorine, and the outdoor pool wasn’t heated. It was too cold to sit in the open area of the hotel bar, which was hardly used anyway.

The indoor pool with whirlpool, outdoor pool, and sauna are all excellent amenities. Breakfast was excellent too, and in the evening there was a choice of delicious dinners. This quiet, family-run hotel is welcoming and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The location is central but still relaxing. I had an excellent stay.

We felt very comfortable during our two weeks at this lovely hotel. It’s centrally located in Dorf Tirol, close to the bus station, yet quiet. Our spacious room had a large balcony and magnificent views. The staff were extremely friendly, breakfast had plenty of variety, and half-board was available. The sauna area and indoor and outdoor pools are very attractively designed. Garage parking is available too.
