Federico and Christina were incredibly welcoming, and both speak pretty good English. We spent six days here with our three children. The apartment is cozy and lovingly furnished, but small, so I’d say it suits a couple or a family with one child better than a larger family. It has a kitchenette and a shower bathroom. The big garden was a bit neglected and overgrown, but the kids had fun exploring it. There are lots of cats around; they seem to belong to the owners and like to come visit.

The young woman who greeted us was very kind and helpful, and the house cats were friendly and affectionate, probably the best part of our stay. If you’re allergic to cats, beware: they rush inside as soon as you open the door. We booked because of the good reviews while visiting Tivoli, and were glad we only stayed two nights. The place is rundown, though clean, and uncomfortable. The included breakfast looked nothing like the photos: just four snacks, some cereal, and milk in the fridge. The kitchenette had an old moka pot and coffee, but not even a napkin. Outside, the terrace was crowded with overgrown bushes and an old, dirty table. The bathroom had no wastebasket or toothbrush holder, and there was no room on the sink. It’s well placed for exploring town on foot, but the climb is steep. The road is fairly busy, so light sleepers may struggle, and if you come back after dark, bring a flashlight. It’s narrow and winding, and drivers seem to think they’re at Indianapolis.

The owner was kind and let us arrive earlier than planned, just as we’d requested. The linens and dishes were fine, but the property is dated and run-down, especially the bathroom. The shower was rusty and didn’t work properly, and the tiny sink had a partly broken drain. I’ve seen and toured modern properties that are much more comfortable and better equipped at a similar price, so this one really needs a renovation or a lower rate. I’m sorry, because although I didn’t expect anything exceptional, I hadn’t thought it would be in such bad shape.

It was quiet, with a great view, and the terrace was a lovely place to relax. Fabio was a perfect host: he explained everything from beginning to end, and we had no problems.

A welcoming place for a pleasant stay. You can park just outside the limited traffic zone, then get around easily on foot.
