The room was okay, but the food was the same every day.

Lovely.

The entertainment was a real highlight, with activities for both adults and kids, including a Saturday night pool disco that drew almost everyone. The young entertainment team kept people busy in and out of the water, and the two people at the pool bar were always friendly, especially on themed evenings. The larger pool has a shallow end, so children can use it too. We stayed in self-catering accommodation with our two girls, aged 10 and 11. The kitchen was out on the patio; the girls had a bunk-bed room, and there was also a large double bedroom with a small terrace facing the sea. There were a few small issues, but simple adjustments could sort them out. Reception also helped us find a way to charge our electric car. A good facility, and I hope it keeps improving and leaves the negative reviews behind.

The entertainment team was the best part of our stay. Everyone was friendly, from village manager Francesco and entertainment manager Emanuele to Filippo, Francesco, Luca, Marco, Antonella, Elisabetta, and Fabiana. Emanuele seemed to have a bit of a technical edge over his colleagues, though. I do think the team should get better working conditions and more tools to do their jobs. The maintenance crew and the people cleaning the rooms and residence deserve praise too. Everything was spotless, from reception to the pool. Special mention to Francesco for his singing, and to Filippo, Luca, and Elisabetta. We stayed from July 10th to 24th, 2016, with my husband and our son, who was almost five. We had a decent time overall, and the rooms were comfortable, but the patio kitchen was hard to use when the heat got intense, as it did during our visit. The pool was okay, though it seemed much smaller than the ones at the residence and out of proportion. The private beach right in front was tiny and practically unusable with children. A kilometer away, though, Piri Piri beach was beautiful, and the sea there was worth it. Torre Ovo itself doesn’t have much: outside the village there’s mainly a seafront promenade with a few shops and grocery stores. For more to see, you have to travel at least ten kilometers, so a car is needed. I never tried the canteen. I heard both complaints and praise, so I can’t judge it. We had a decent holiday, but I’ve stayed in better-organized places and don’t know if I’d return. The value for money was perhaps a little better than what the place offers.
