Residence La Mignon - Terrazza

The big terrace is the standout here, with a phenomenal, wide view. Personally, I’d give it seven stars. The apartment gets three at most. We’d wanted to visit for years because of the setting, and the positive reviews over the past few years made the view sound special. Unfortunately, all those reviews have suddenly disappeared from Booking.com. The apartment is compact: the living room is about 25 square meters (5x5 meters), the bedroom around 8 to 9 square meters, and the bathroom is 1.80 x 1.80 meters. The outdoor terrace is spacious, with comfortable furniture, and can be covered or opened as needed. Getting there takes effort, especially for anyone with limited mobility. From Lake Garda, there’s a fairly steep 130-meter road, by car or on foot, with an elevation gain of about 25 meters (20% incline). There’s a private, open parking spot. The owner can store two e-bikes on request, somewhere dry and safe. From there, it’s over 40 steps, roughly another 15 meters up. You need to be in good physical shape, but the reward is a wonderful terrace and that expansive lake view. The kitchen and living room are adequately equipped, with a coffee machine and a filter coffee maker. There’s a microwave, but no built-in combination oven/microwave. In the living room there’s a table, a two-seater sofa that folds out, a TV and air conditioning. The compact bedroom has a 1.60 x 2.00-meter bed and a ceiling fan. Free Wi-Fi reaches about 48 Mbps at most.

The setting is very nice, although the apartment is a bit small, and the terrace and view are definitely its best features. Unfortunately, the cleaning wasn’t good enough. The kitchen and most surfaces were dusty or stained, and the curtains had dead insects and lots of marks. We understand other guests may have used things before us, but they should be checked before new arrivals. Getting there won’t suit everyone: there are at least 40 steps to climb, and the road to the parking area is narrow, steep and uneven. The stay wasn’t all bad, but we feel these details should be checked and handled more carefully.
