The neighborhood felt close-knit, and people were helpful. The food and service were excellent, especially the morning cappuccinos. The house was a bit cramped, but had everything we needed for our days out exploring. It was clean and tidy, with thoughtful extras like a list of places to eat and information about short-term car rentals. The owners were responsive and helped arrange airport transfers both ways.

The downsides are the third-floor location and narrow stairs at the entrance. Reaching the bed means climbing a spiral staircase and ducking through an opening just a meter high. With restaurants below, there's sometimes an unpleasant fried-fish smell. The host is warm and welcoming, and the loft sits right below the main street in the Jewish ghetto. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is nice but stuffy, hot water is always available, and the internet is great.
