Hotel Brutium

I spent eight restful days here and found it a lovely place to unwind. The hotel is surrounded by mountain greenery, with nature sounds and pleasant background music chosen by the owner, Olivio, a warm, friendly man with plenty of life experience who was always up for a kind word. The rooms were carefully cleaned and tidied every day, and had air conditioning, though I never used it because cool air came naturally from the nearby mountains. The pool is well maintained. The sea is about 15 minutes away along a scenic road through the village of Tortona. From there it's easy to reach Tortora Marina, Praia a Mare, San Nicola Arcella with the wonderful Arcomagno, and beautiful Maratea. The food was another plus, and Giuseppe, one of the staff, is a very good person.

The whole staff worked hard to make our holiday relaxing, and the carefully chosen music by the pool was pleasant without getting in the way. Olivio, Giuseppe, and Cornelio made these days at Brutium Hotel wonderful, and we hope to see them again soon. The food and wine selection deserves a mention too: local meat dishes at very reasonable prices, along with Brazilian specialties like picanha and feijoada, reflecting the owner's Brazilian origins and careful choice of meat. We spent a week at this splendid property in a fantastic spot among the Calabrian Pollino mountains, over 600 meters above sea level. The terraced garden and pool were beautifully maintained. Some of the upper Tyrrhenian area's loveliest beaches are just over a 20-minute drive away, including Arco Magno at San Nicola Arcella, Fiuzzi beach at Praia a Mare (CS), and La Secca and Fiumicello di Maratea (PZ). Given the value for money, I'd highly recommend staying here.

After a long, hot day, we arrived to find that Mr. Olivio had already cooled our room down 💪. We enjoyed the pool, which has an outdoor shower and very clean bathrooms. The greenery around the property is beautifully kept, and the service at both the pool and dinner was wonderful. I'd recommend it if you want to relax, unwind, and be looked after.

The hillside air felt wonderfully fresh, and the beaches were about a 10-minute drive along a quiet, scenic road. The rooms and pool were exceptionally clean. Olivio and his staff did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. The restaurant is well worth trying too!
