We enjoyed walking along the lovely jetty, and Trani itself is pretty and easy to explore on foot. The hotel sits right on the harbor, beside the cathedral and castle, in a historic building with a modern feel. The staff were pleasant and helpful. There were snacks, wine, and water in the room, and breakfast had a delicious spread of hot and cold options. My only gripe was Saturday night’s party music, which went on until 1:30 in the morning. The hotel is a popular spot for birthdays and weddings.

The location is hard to beat, but the bed was really uncomfortable and needs replacing. Most of the other things in the room and hotel could use an upgrade too. I stayed one night.

We only ate at the restaurant, so this is just about dinner. We stopped in one evening without having read any reviews and were pleasantly surprised. The ravioli starter and beef main were excellent. I got to taste three wines before finding the one I wanted, an excellent Merlot and Syrah blend. The staff were attentive and the service was by the book. The portions seemed larger than at other local restaurants, and the first and second courses were a bit too much for me. We’re thinking of staying at the hotel next time too.

Giovanna at reception was especially helpful with arranging car transport and taxis, and recommending restaurants. Thanks again, Giovanna. We spent five days at Palazzo Filisio and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s in a beautiful location, and the staff were pleasant and accommodating.

A lovely breakfast and an excellent restaurant. The hotel has just ten rooms and a fantastic spot beside the cathedral, with views over the sea and harbor. Highly recommended!
