B&B Bella Trapani

We had one of our best holidays there. The place was very clean, and the owners were wonderful, friendly and always ready to help. I loved the time we spent there and think I might come back someday. What's not to love, with the sun, the sea, and the people?

The owner was kind and helpful, and the B&B is well placed near Trapani's historic center and just a short walk from the port ferries to the Aegadian Islands. It's on the first floor, though, and noise was a real issue. We heard it from outside through the wooden windows and roller shutters, and inside from a pump that refills the water tanks. There isn't a garage. In summer, street parking is paid by the hour every day. If you find a space in the "yellow zone" about fifty meters away, parking is free on Sundays. The place was clean and the bathrooms were in good condition, but the furnishings need updating and have a musty smell. If you're sensitive to odors, sleeping can be difficult. There aren't many electrical outlets, and one room's air conditioning didn't work properly. Breakfast was simple: toast with butter and jam, juice, milk, and coffee.

Thank you to everyone who's chosen us over these 12 years and taken the time to leave a review. I'm grateful to have met so many wonderful people, including visitors who picked Trapani and broadened our horizons through conversation. We've had our limitations and our "inabilities," but we've always put real care into our guests and cleanliness. We change the linens when needed and try to help with every request. We can't read minds, though, so we can't respond to needs nobody tells us about. Some people have damaged things and then complained about the damage. One guest, on a very hot Sicilian summer day, set the air conditioning to 16°C until the card malfunctioned, as the technicians confirmed, then said it wasn't working instead of admitting it had been broken. There have been other cases too, including setting it to 30°C in mild winter weather with the window open. We've also been blamed for parking in the historic center and Saturday night "nightlife," neither of which we control, and for not offering services expected at a 5-star superior hotel. I'm sorry when people don't understand what a real B&B is. It isn't a cheap hotel, doesn't come with hotel services, and isn't a house turned into one. It's our home too. We need to be able to go out and aren't "on call" 24/7. In any case, thank you!

A welcoming B&B in a central spot between the two seas. The room was decent, with a private bathroom, air conditioning, a fan, complimentary toiletries, and free Wi-Fi. Breakfast included decent coffee, Valfrutta juices, Candia or Sterilgarda milk, packaged Italian croissants, yogurt made with 100% Italian milk, rusks, breadsticks from Via Mattei, Sant'Ilario d'Enza, and Italian butter.
