Historico loft & rooms

I spent a week here and enjoyed it. For a three-star hotel, I’d give it five stars. The design is lovely, it’s very clean apart from a few tiny exceptions, the staff are friendly, the rooms have working air conditioning, and the location is good. You can see the train station from some room windows. Breakfast tastes good, though the choices are a bit repetitive. There are no set opening hours, so you can come and go whenever you like, and they kindly let you leave your luggage after checkout. There are some drawbacks: not every room has a kitchenette, one of the two fridges in my room didn’t work, and hot water took a while to reach the taps. The toilet seat hinges were so tight that it wouldn’t open fully, and the shower door was hard to open once shut. The air conditioning could be loud, and rooms facing the street got a fair bit of noise, though the city itself is generally noisy. It isn’t a perfect five-star stay, but it’s not a five-star hotel, either. There are many more positives than negatives, and I’d recommend it. I’ve heard it’s a good standard compared with nearby options, though this was my first time in Sicily, so I can’t compare from experience.
