Hotel Moderno

The room was clean and had everything needed for a comfortable stay, though street noise at night made it harder to sleep. At check-in, the receptionist questioned whether my place of birth was genuine, even though it was plainly written in my passport. It seemed to come from disbelief that someone of my ethnicity could have been born in Germany. My white partner wasn’t asked anything similar about their birthplace. It was upsetting to encounter what felt like racial bias in a professional setting. I hope this was an isolated incident rather than a reflection of the hotel’s policies or practices, and that the organization can learn from it and address bias or discrimination. Aside from that incident, the stay was satisfactory, with comfortable accommodation and convenient amenities.

Honestly, I loved it. The location is superb and I’d come back. The only thing that felt a bit uncomfortable was that people didn’t speak English. Then again, I ran into the same thing around Italy, so maybe that’s common there.

Our room was clean and spacious, and Massimo was an absolute delight, so helpful and courteous. The location is great, close to local attractions and good restaurants. I hope to see you again and visit antico sapore! Grazie, Raffaele & Angela!

Quiet and fairly tucked away, while still central, with good-sized rooms and simple furnishings. A decent hotel for an inexpensive overnight stay.
