La Lampara

The apartment was sparsely furnished and not well maintained in some ways. The floor creaks when you walk, and ants were a problem in some rooms. It’s in a run-down building reached by narrow, steep stairs, and getting to the accommodation means climbing four stories. The much-advertised solarium isn’t available to everyone, even though it often appears in photos on comparison sites. There’s municipal parking about 400 meters away, but the few free spaces may be hard to find. Otherwise it costs 0.50 cents an hour until midnight, so parking adds to the cost of the stay.

La Lampara is on a quiet street close to amenities, the port, and the historic center. Our room with a terrace and solarium was clean and comfortable, with all the amenities, air conditioning, and a working kitchen. The reception team were friendly, helpful, and excellent when we arrived. We’ll be back.

The night was very quiet, and we didn’t need to leave the car just a few steps away. The map and directions made finding the place easy, which was especially helpful because it’s in a restricted traffic zone (ZTL). You can only drive along part of the coast, so keep that in mind. We were welcomed fabulously. There was a smell when we first entered, but it went away once we opened the shutters. I’ll be back.

The reception staff were very friendly and explained everything. The house is a restored, spacious old place in the port area, right in the center, with all the comforts. The beach is about a 10-minute walk away. Parking in the blue zone costs money, but there’s a spot about 3 minutes away where you can park for free. We loved the house.
